Traveling with kids
We love to travel. Anywhere. Anytime.
It is not about spending money, but investing in ourselves. Is there a better way to learn to be tolerant, to learn about other cultures, to see a different architecture, a lifestyle, a beauty? The journey provides the opportunity to become citizens of the city we visit, to feel the food, to hear the language and to gain new acquaintances. And as parents we want to convey the culture of traveling to our children.
Ever since we have kids, our travels are mostly subordinated to them. If you are parents, you know what I am talking about. A bunch of clothes, toys and medicine (because you never know how the thing is going to happen). Strategic preparations begin several days earlier. We count days and become more excited. We love talking about the country we visit, speaking a few words in a foreign language and watching photos. The biggest question of our children is where the playground is and can we just visit every playground in the city. No, dear kids, we cannot.
We usually take several toys that do not take up a lot of space. So, I created Waved memory game in mini size. Small linen bag with 10 wooden circles is perfect for traveling and playing during the ride. Also, a coloring book is a great thing for travel. All you need is to subscribe to Waved newsletters and you`ll get Winter coloring pages for free.
Our kids are 3 and 5 years old and they don`t understand the difference between terms state or city yet. Also, I realized that small children do not notice the differences between people like the skin color and so on. And that is the greatest treasure they carry in themselves. Exactly, we should learn from them. People are people no matter where they live, what they believe or which language they speak. The journey helps us to learn about ourselves and to know ourselves. Maybe even more than to know other people.
What challenges do you have while traveling with children?
